Last Kiss

Melancholia, the Blues, SAD – who knows why our frequent writer Eric Hobson chooses to explore an old veterans ‘last days’ in this poem:

Last Kiss

A kiss
One last kiss
Before my body leaves

A kiss
One last kiss
Before I find the
Answer to life’s
Final question

A kiss, a final kiss
Before you assign
Me to the fire

A final kiss
Before you scatter my ashes
Under some tree

One last kiss
For all the many years
We’ve had together

One last final kiss
From you
My only love
